Flush is a smartphone-exclusive photo-sharing social media platform that aims to foster genuine online connections by focusing on real-time sharing of activities without filters or image editing. The platform will prevent screenshots and delete all posts within 24 hours, encouraging users to live in the moment.
With unique features such as no filters, no editing, no long-lasting post history, prevention of screenshots and recordings, and private comment threads, Flush seeks to fundamentally move away from the manufactured and fake aspects of the social media world. There is no point in getting to know someone unless it's the real them, and Flush is positioned to be the pioneer of genuine and authentic online connections.
The database used is Google Firebase, and the content is fetched directly from the database instead of using a CDN due to a lack of funds at this time. It might not be the best solution to fetch images from the database directly all the time, and it's certainly slower, but it's surprisingly good—and free.
Flush is 8,207 lines of code and counting.
I'm hoping it doesn't take another 8,207 lines to optimize and fix everything, but with the way the Alpha is going, it looks like it might!
How can an app prevent screenshots?
Well, I can't give away the secrets to my most valuable unique feature, but it's quite crazy to try and screenshot a view of content and end up with only a blank screenshot. I mean, just look at the screenshot below. It's like there's nothing there.
